Building Awards 2005
Marlborough secured a place as finalists for Specialist Contractor of the Year at this year's Building Awards. In addition Marlborough made it to the top four, from a record number of entries, for the overall Best Practice Award
Marlborough's entry portfolio consisted of a 500 word statement defining how we have improved over the last 12 months and why we deserve this title, a series of questions about our corporate approach, system and structure and an exemplary project for which we used City Gate Phase 2, Manchester
"We are proud to be finalists yet again. This success, against competition of the highest level within the construction industry, reinforces our constant achievements year after year" Paul Donnelly, Managing Director
The Best Practice Award, for which Marlborough was short-listed, rewards excellence across all aspects of business and focuses on less tangible criteria such as;
- Health and Safety
- Partnering and Supply Chain Management
- Sustainability
- Training and Employee Care
- Consideration for the Community
The judges were overwhelmed by the percentage of turnover Marlborough invested in;
- Research and development
- IT Systems
- Training
The Awards Ceremony, the highlight of the construction calendar, was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Tuesday 26th April 2005.
