Building Awards 2006

Marlborough was once again short-listed for Specialist Contractor of the Year at the annual Building Awards.

Marlborough was a finalist at the 2005 and 2004 Building Awards, run by Building Magazine. At the 2005 Awards we were also recognised in the Best Practice category, being selected from all entries across all categories to make it to the final four.

This year Marlborough's submission concentrated on the key developments and improvements in business performance that we have achieved over the past 12 months and included Lumiere Building, Manchester as our exemplary project from the period.

Marlborough was a runner up on the night of the Buiding Awards 2006 and felt very honoured to be shortlisted against such prestigious competition.

The Building Awards judges had this to say about Marlborough:

"This Yorkshire brickwork specialist is a fast growing, extraordinarily successful company. The secret of this success isn't really a secret: heavy investment in training and IT, a doubling in the amount of repeat business and a large majority of its contracts won through negotiation rather than open-market tendering."

The awards ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on 4th April 2006.
