Balfour Beatty Construction has been appointed by York College to build its new £60 million campus on Sim Balk Lane and Marlborough is carrying out the £2m masonry package.

The new state-of-the-art college will be the biggest of its kind in the country, involving a 4 storey building of some 30,000 square metres with seperate nursery, car parking and playing fields.

Funding for the new college is to be partly provided by the sale of the college's Tadcaster Road site, which is to be used for housing.
