Building for the Future
Marlborough has acquired new premises to create an off-site Training and Product Development Centre
The 4000 sq ft new premises in Cross Green, Leeds, are currently being developed by Marlborough into a centre for the provision of trade and management training, and research and development into alternative products and building systems.
The centre will house defined areas geared for use in our apprentice training scheme, trade skills and management development, and also provide tailored space for the testing of new systems and materials. The new premises also take Marlborough a step closer to its aim of becoming an Assessment Centre for NVQs. This latest move is part of Marlborough's ongoing commitment to innovation in the services and products we offer our clients and to investment in the future generations of construction workers.
Marlborough has already invested heavily in developing the skills and competency of its staff, employing a dedicated Training Manager (Phil Almond, pictured), implementing a structured apprenticeship scheme in collaboration with CITB and forming partnerships with regional colleges. Likewise, we have always carried out product research and development and this has led to highly productive supply chain partnerships. The new Training and Product Development Centre will continue to focus our minds on securing the successes of the future.
