Not all Double-Dutch
A trip to Amsterdam sheds light on gypsum walling systems as part of Marlborough's drive to develop its business operations to incorporate alternative building systems.
We have already researched Corium brick tiling systems and are now an approved installer with Baggeridge Brick & a trip to Germany in 2005 saw Marlborough develop an association with Agrob Buchtal Rainscreen Cladding. Well, in the spirit of staying at the leading edge of new construction methods & products we went international again recently, this time to research gypsum walling systems.
A small delegation from Marlborough travelled to Holland for a site visit with Lafarge, who are looking to introduce their gypsum block walling system into the UK. Lafarge's Technical Commercial Advisor, Eric Bruin, took Marlborough to a construction site in Amsterdam to see the walling system being installed.
The project was a new development of terraced housing and construction consisted of a 2-storey structural concrete framed building, including concrete party walls and floors, with a brick envelope to the front and back of the properties. Following the excursion, Marlborough is now continuing its research and development of gypsum walling systems through our supply chain and using our new Product Development Centre
