In 2000 we were proud to be involved with a flagship retail project in Seacroft, Leeds. In their first partnering agreement, Tesco worked with Main Contractors Quarmby Construction, Asda St. James and local government agencies to open a new ‘Extra’ store and regenerate Seacroft Town Centre. A job Guarantee Scheme developed by the consortium, and the first of its kind in the UK, ensured that 320 jobs went to the local community.

Marlborough was able to use local Managers and craftsmen in our £1.2 million package for internal blockwork, external brickwork and stone column surrounds. The 80,000 sq. ft Tesco store and additional retail units have provided a nucleus for the community of Seacroft and the project has been hailed a success by all involved.
